Joyce Rowsell BA HSF MASF
| Joyce Rowsell lives in an old
farmhouse overlooking the Vale of Taunton Deane, near the Brendon Hills. She paints
miniatures in oil on silk which allows the build-up of precise images and fine detail.
Larger paintings are on canvas or board. Subjects vary. She likes landscapes, still lifes, and scenes of people enjoying parties, carnivals and fairs. Commissions have come from Britain, America and Japan for paintings of still life and portraits of children, actresses, company directors, houses and horses. |

| She has a degree in Art History from London
University Courtauld Institute and found it to
be a very useful study because it discusses the many different methods, techniques and
styles of painting. The 17th century Baroque is her favourite period.
